With the support of my wife I set out to make 2018 a productive year for many of my ideas I have had over the past few years. I feel the hardest part about all of this, and most things worth doing if I am honest, is just Getting Started. I am king of self-preservationist procrastination and can think of many reasons to keep from putting research or ideas into action but can all be traced back to a lack of preparedness for judgments.
I will be working on starting a podcast (which I am still thinking of name for), solo & band music releases, a children’s book, a short-film and composing the music for it, composing music for video games, and probably more as things I just keep it moving. I look forward to sharing the struggles and triumphs that come along with creating something. I have decided to, well, maybe forced to make many things myself to save the pocket book a bit such as xlr cables for music, acoustic panels, & bass traps (thank you for the help Tony!) I have learned so many things already and navigating my way to find my passions has been a very interesting journey so far.
Thanks to Jason Segel who mentioned that he read through “Steal Like An Artist” by Austin Kleon I have been very inspired and also read “Show Your Work”. I think this was an important first step and look forward to the next one.
